Information for applicants and
or potential nannies/companions/housekeepers/domestic managers.
Dear Applicant,
We are happy you are interested in Mother's Helpmates. We are
looking for people that really care about children and/or the elderly and want
to help care for others.
Please, look over the following information and see if you
could qualify for a job referral through our service.
1. A copy of your driver's license and or picture ID.
2. A copy of your social security care or birth certificate. A
copy of training or child care diploma or certificates
3. A clean background, we require all applicants to sign a
release form for a pre-employment screening. The screening includes criminal,
driving, and some times require a credit check. (Depending on the parents
particular request) You may be asked to take a drug screen as well.
4. All live-in nannies must have prior live-in experience
with verifiable references before being referred to a live-in nanny position
with a family.
5. A copy of your resume. If you don't have a resume. You need
to write down some of the things about yourself, your interests, hobbies,
education, volunteer work along with your past work history. Tell us all about
yourself, so we can better place you with the appropriate family. We want to
make sure you share the same interests as the family.
6. Your resume needs to included a personal as well as work
references. All references need to e verifiable. List the names, addresses (if
known) and phone numbers where each can be reached both day and evening
(cell & pager numbers. Tell us how long you worked at each job and how many
children you cared for and the ages of the children you cared. (This
information can include daycare centers, or schools where you worked, well as
nanny positions. Any position you worked involving children.
7. We need addresses of neighbors and friends either in the
state where you lived or if you have recently moved we will need number and
names of the people who have known you over the past 5 to 7 years. Send the
information mentioned above to us via fax to 813-961-1336 or call if you have
questions. (The quickest way is always to fax or E-mail the information to us
to get faster attention.) When we receive it we will contact you to set up a
telephone interview and ask any questions we have about the information we
receive from you.
8. Salaries- Depending on the area's where you lived and your
experience, the salaries can range from $300.00-$1000.00 a week. The salary
will depend on your education, training, experience and the number for
children and job duties.
9. Contracts- You will be asked to sign on with the nanny
position for a minimum of one year unless the position is short term or a
temporary. The contract we put together states the obligations to Mother's
Helpmates and the family who hires you. The family pays the placement fee to
the agency prior to the nanny starting the nanny position.
WE put a letter of confirmation and agreement together between
the family and the nanny to confirm everything that has been agreed too
between all parties once the nanny accepts the job. This covers and helps
clarify everything pertaining to the nannies job for example, salary,
vacation, and holiday pay and vacation, job duties.
When you get together all your information contract us via
E-mail, phone or fax. We will set up a phone interview and either fax you an
application or send you as application and release form to fill out. Serious
